FLAC is now partnering with Humana to provide Silver Sneakers fitness program for seniors.



Modifications for all fitness & skill levels are demonstrated in all classes.

Ballet-Pilates: 45 minute class, fusing graceful ballet movements and dance-inspired Pilates training.

Boot Camp: Back to basic training. This class will be your personal boot camp—you will run and do more jumping jacks and sit ups than you ever thought possible. Additionally, you will keep a record of your improvements. Now is the time to reach your personal best.

Buff’n Up: 1 hour full body muscle conditioning & strength training class utilizing a variety of equipment designed to Buff U Up

Cardio Sculpt and Tone: A combination class incorporating both cardio drills and strength drills.

Chi Gong: Ancient form of exercise that incorporates moving meditation.

Fit Ball Strength: 1 hour class utilizing a stability ball as well as a variety of equipment to perform exercises that are designed to improve overall strength and balance.

Kickboxing: Jab, kick & punch your way to stronger, leaner muscles and a healthier state of mind.

Pilates: 45 minute class based on a series of exercises performed with control and precision that are designed to strengthen the “core” muscles as well as lengthen, define and sculpt legs, arms and smaller supporting muscle groups.

SilverSneakers®: Muscular Strength and Range of Movement: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers II ®: Cardio Circuit Class: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

SilverSneakers YogaStretch ®: This class is designed to physically & mentally engage students with a variety of safe & fun yoga postures and breathing exercises. Using a chair for support, participants work at their own pace to build flexibility & endurance while learning to relax & think more clearly.

Step: 1 hour class with choreographed combinations using the step which allows for a higher intensity workout with less impact. Muscular endurance exercises may be included prior to the final segment of class.

Sunrise Strength: 60 minute full body strength training designed to improve muscle conditioning and balance.

Tai Chi: Slow, rhythmic, Chinese art form designed to improve breathing, strength, balance and flexibility. Helps to promote health and mental clarity.

Yoga: Class designed on Hatha yoga postures designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance, develop relaxation and concentration and enhance overall well-being and health.

Cycling

Cycling: 30-60 minute class that includes a combination of interval and steady state training intended to improve cycling efficiency and cardio-respiratory conditioning.

Specialty Cycling: 45 minute “specialized” class following a monthly schedule that will include: cycle sculpting, simulated biathlons, tour de France rides etc. (Check the Schedule by the spin studio door.)

Turn & Burn: 30 minute cycling class followed by 30 minutes of hard core abdominal work and upper body strength. Take one or both to gain the benefits of cardio and strength.
